Dr. Stephannie Tallent has worked as a small animal veterinarian in the South Bay and nearby areas of Los Angeles and Orange County since graduation from veterinary school.

She received her doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Texas A&M in 1999, a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Texas Austin in 1995, and a B.S. in English Literature from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1989.

She served in the Army for 4 years as a Military Intelligence officer after graduating from West Point, primarily in Germany, but including deployment for Desert Storm with the 1st Armored Division.

Dr. Tallent was born in the Long Beach area, and moved back to California after graduating from vet school, wanting to live near the beach again.

She and her husband Dave (a Physics teacher at Palisades Charter High) have two dogs: Orry, an English Cocker Spaniel, and Oscar, a mini long-haired Dachshund.

She enjoys hiking and native plant gardening. She’s also a published knitwear pattern designer and editor.
